Dear CCHS Families,

Earlier today, a gas leak was identified within the school building. Following a thorough inspection by the Vails Gate Fire Department and Central Hudson, it was determined that the building was not safe for immediate reentry. The facility is currently being ventilated to ensure it is clear for staff and students.

We understand that many students have personal items remaining in the building. To accommodate this, the building will be open today from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM specifically for students to retrieve their possessions.

Safety Reminders & Emergency Planning

Today’s events serve as an important reminder to review your family’s emergency safety plan. We encourage you to discuss the following with your student:

• Transportation: Ensure your student knows their assigned bus number.
• Communication: Establish a check-in plan for situations where cell phone access may be limited or unavailable.
• Procedures: For detailed information on our school's protocols, please refer to the Parent Emergency Guide on our website.
